The closer you get to 1, the more solid, engaged & predictable your board will feel to help control speed. Fins with a Ride Number around 5 feel balanced & do not add any premium feelings to your board - they let your board’s original character shine. To use Ride Number just pick a feeling in your weight range, and give it a try. When you understand the different feels, you can get the most performance & enjoyment out of your equipment.

It is offered in two different foam densities (Medium & Soft) to meet the needs of each stage of the shape.
Each "Shapers Block" has a double density, knowing that a layer of very dense foam equips the upper faces of each of the models.
For your work, you have a complete range of sanding papers and "screens" equipped with a Velcro side, which are applied directly to your "Shapers Block" and can be removed just as easily. Time saving and obvious working comfort...
Which foam density to choose?
- Soft: ideal for finishing work and rounding rails. Recommended use with 180# and 240# grit sanding sheets or screens.
- Medium: multi-use; if you must have only one choose this one. Typically used with 80# to 240# grits.
- Hard: ideal for efficient work and roughing of foam work on large areas. It will then be used with larger grits, more abrasive (60# or higher).
