Resins

VIRAL Surf distributes two types of resins:

  • Polyester resins: distributed under the SILMAR brand and formulated by the company Interplastic Corporation (US), the references SIL-249 A, SIL 249-BFH and SIL-249 BB will delight their users with the ease and multiplicity of applications possible. These resins are used in nearly 80% of workshops around the world.
  • Epoxy resins, such as SURF CLEAR EVO and SURF CLEAR EVO 2 by Viral, formulated by the company SICOMIN. And the RESIN RESEARCH range with the RR2000, the KWIK KICK and the SURF PRO.
  • Polyester resins

The  SIL249-BLH is quite efficient when used together with a traditional PMEK catalyst, for lamination of not-coloured boards. Its optical whitener will give to your boards a ''whiter'' than white effect. Greater effect with SIL249-BB which get "double dose" of blue optical whitener. We recommend the SIL249- A "traditional" resin if you use it with together with pigments (tinted resin), or if you decide to work with a UV catalyst.

  • Epoxy Systems

The SURF CLEAR EVO and SURF CLEAR EVO 2 resins, from Sicomin, are very popular with Epoxy specialists. Specifically developed for the construction of windsurf boards and surfboards, the SURF CLEAR system is intended for the lamination of glass, carbon and aramid fibers. This formulation is compatible with all foams on the market: polystyrene, polyurethane, PVC, AIREX.

RESIN RESEARCH's epoxy resins, which are available in 3 systems - 2000, Kwik Kick and Surf Pro - are not far behind in terms of quality and handling.
